Solving (societal) challenges with blockchain
On Wednesday, let’s take a close look at what blockchain exactly means to us. We will watch three TED Talks from different speakers and arbitrate their opinion. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx will screen the best of TEDx, the most inspirational moments.
Date: Wednesday 23rd november 2022
Time: 4-6 pm
Location: Alpha Hub, Eindhoven (TU/e)
Fee: Free entrance, free drinks (registration needed!)
Our host: Allard Couwenberg
Allard believes in a data-driven future, but also that we must continually stay sharp about how we use technology in the process. I see many opportunities and threats in all the monitoring and an endless data hunger. What is the right balance between people and technology, between transparency and privacy, between high-tech and offline?
As a freelance BI consultant, Allard helps organizations translate their data into information and insight. He is also a part-time lecturer at Fontys and can regularly be found at all kinds of tech meetups.
How to implement blockchain in societal challenges?
In preparation of the event we share real-life examples of how a business approach focused on accelerating tech (like a blockchain-supported way to bring food to refugees or a machine that fortifies flour at small mills in Africa) can help make an impact on big, seemingly intractable problems. “Innovation and technology can create so much good in the world, and together we can solve the world’s biggest challenges,”
